Human
Immunodeficiency Virus Vaxcine™ has been shown to enhance the immune response to HIV antigens when administered sub-cutaneously by injection. Strong antibody responses (including IgG2b) were achieved after sub-cutaneous administration in absence of any other immunostimulant (see Figure 1). As can be seen an increase in all sub-classes of antibody in the blood was observed against HGP-30, as well as an increase in ear-thickness after topical exposure to antigen - an indicator of the cellular immune response. Levels observed were greater than that obtainable with antigen on alum or with liposomes.
Figure 1. Impact of Vaxcine™ delivered HIV antigen. Research programme first work commenced on regulation of two cell types – osteoblasts and has shown ability to up and down regulate the activity of these cells. Therapeutic peptides to be constructed
for testing. |
