Dr. Roger New
Co-Founder
Roger is a co-founder of Proxima
Concepts, Infexion’s parent company. Roger has extensive experience
with oral drug delivery technologies for proteins and peptides having
served as head of research at Cortecs. Roger also spent a large part of
his career with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and is an internationally
recognized expert on liposomes.

- First to demonstrate efficacy of liposomal
amphotericin. Coordinated first Phase I/II trials of liposomal doxorubicin

in Type I diabetics
- Honorary professor at several foreign
academic institutions. Consultant advisor to IRCD. Member of UK Govt
Expert Mission on Biotechnology to China

Mr. Glen Travers
Co-Founder
Glen is a co-founder of Proxima
Concepts. Glen was also a founder and CEO of Western Capital, a private
equity firm established in 1985. Glen became Chairman of Cortecs Ltd.,
the UK subsidiary of Western Capital, in 1989 and served as Executive
Chairman from 1992 to 1998. During that time, Cortecs International PLC became a global
leader in oral drug delivery systems for proteins and peptides and was
listed on the UK and Nasdaq exchanges.
Achievements as founder and chief executive in biopharmaceutical arena:
- Developed and launched ‘89 first
helicobacter diagnostic - CLOTEST
- Licensed to Upjohn for USA- Royalties
received for 10 years
- Developed and launched first Hp point
of care diagnostic - HELISAL
- Launched with Astra in UK, Boehringer
Mannheim ROW, Becton Dickinson USA
- Developed and launched with Ciba animal
care antibacterial DETACH in Australia
Developed and launched first oral mucosal vaccine – BRONCOSTAT,
sold to RPR 1990
- Developed first point-of-care osteoporosis
diagnostic ‘98 - OSTEOSAL
- Developed first point-of-care HBA1c
diagnostic ‘98 – GLYCOSAL
- Founded and built biopharmaceutical
company to peak $1.2bn value ($0.5bn on departure)
- Listed company in UK, Australia, Nasdaq,
and developed £7m turnover for UK pharmaceutical distribution
- Registered new products with FDA, MCA
- Developed collaborations with 12 Universities
including Centre for Vaccine Development at Cambridge University
